LEICESTERSHIRE
Leicestershire is at the heart of England. It is a county of landscape and woods. It is a delightful place to visit, with lots of well defined country walks. Kent used to be the Garden of England, but it is undergoing some very important redevelopment work at the moment. So this is the place to visit if you want wide open spaces that remain relatively unspoilt
A derelict windmill
This photograph was taken at the base the Carillion in Loughborough Park. A carillion is a bell tower where music is played on bells. It has a keyboard like a piano. What makes this carillion unusual is that it is the only one in the United Kingdom. What impressed me was the bronze stains on the paving stones. I had the feeling that if a modern artist were to paint this, it would be hung in the Tate Modern. Why? The paving stones seem to be laid with thought and design, the rest is left to the elements. The flagger knew what he was doing, but he remains anonymous, unfortunately.
